The problem may well be the fact that the camera has an internal battery to hold the time and date. If the camera is used infrequently, those normally discharge. Try putting a freshly charged main battery in the camera and leaving it with the power switch off for 24 hours, then set the date and time to see if it holds. If not, it probably needs a new internal battery or servicing.

Press the m button during shooting or playback to display the setup menu. The setup menu provides access to a variety of camera settings, including options not listed in the function menu, display options, and the time and date. Once you have the date and time set it should stop asking.

Every time I turn on camera it ask to set date,

The Time/Date battery is a small round lithium battery the size of a dime in the battery compartment. You can get the numbers off it and buy one at Walmart or Ebay.

My camera won't keep the date and time. each time it is turned on it asks to be reset. is there a battery to retain the date??

There is a special battery that keeps the date and time running, but it can be replaced only by a technician (it's soldered on a board). You will have to give it to a Kodak authorized service center.

Camera keeps loosing the time and date settings. When turning the camera on the lens does not open, then a screen asking to set the date and time settings appears - once date reset the camera works...

have you check the settings for time and date have you saved it? You can also try to remove the cam battry for 2 mins. then put it back in then turn on the camera and then after few secs. turn it off, then see if the issue persist.

Coolpix S710 time-date setting required EVERY time

I thing your problem in your internal power. I don't know what NIKON S710 use. For some camera, they used internal battery (Circle and small) in their board. If you find same, try to change with the new one. If you don't find it..In my country i find the battery in the watch service. I hope usefull

Cannot turn date stamp off and date keeps resetting

Try removing battery from camera then wait 10 seconds before installing. This action resets camera.

If no work, locate your camera software version. Procedure should be in manual, else could probably find it in a google search. Then locate latest version with a google search, or panasonic camera website, or call to customer service and ask.

It you do not have latest version, ask customer service how to download it.

Canon A450 internal battery problem?

There are cameras with 'fixed' internal batteries to maintain date/time they are long lived and not usually replaceable.
If this is such a model and it is new then a replacement should be forth coming from the vendor or Canon.
The vendor is the first stop then Canon support
