Question about Garmin nuvi 350 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Blank screen I bought the Garmin Nuvi 350 a few months ago. When I turn on the receiver, the screen appears white with some grayish, horizontal line running through the screen towards the bottom. The touch screen still works, but nothing appears on the screen. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

In the middle of Garminas comments the device turned blank and silent.

When I try to turn it on again it plays dead....... No problem with power... it was connected to the car power system at the time and the battery was fully charged...

I have had the same problem twice, both times at critical points where I was relying on the Nuvi to direct me in a strange city. It becomes totally unresponsive to any touch and to the power on/off button. The only "fix" I have found is to let the power run down - in other words - DO NOT PLUG IT IN TO EITHER CAR OR HOUSE POWER - and when the battery dies the screen goes dark. Then you can recharge and turn it on again.

Same problem, I letting the power run down used to work, now it doesn't.
Very frustrating.  Furthermore, I tired to go to Garmin's website for a possible fix, I was unable to even register the product after downloading 2 separate applications the site prompted me to download.

I had the same problem, so I hit the side of the Garmin a few times. It works perfectly now. Something inside was unaligned and needed a little force to knock it into place. I didn't hit it HARD.

Garmin Nuvi 1300 (and 1490T) won't start up

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.
