The problem is in the mainboard, look for j conectors, and try to see if any is released.They control the step motor who can make the camera focus
Hi I found your post while working on my acuitus 5015. I did find aj connector that isnt connected to anything. however the only free connection doesnt match the j connector male component. Are there supposed to be any j connectors that arent attached to anything?

Tjats correct. Tjat conector is for a tools when it needs to calibrate the reference diopters, just for that
