The remote will turn on and work, but will not communicate with the air conditioner. We have to turn the air conditioner on manually to get it to work, which was fine in Summer as it was set to cool, but it is now getting cold and we want to use the heat and can't change the temperature settings.

If you can't change the settings manually, then the control pad is bad. If you can and the remote won't change the temp or mode then the remote is bad and will need to be replaced.

my remote control is not communicating with the window type unit. the remote control display is working. i can only turn the unit on via the emergency soft touch botton and is set to 25 deg. i don't know how to change it to cooler temperature. How can i fix the remote control to communicate with the unit or change the temperature without the remote control.
