My side by side ge-gsl25jfpd bs side of the fridge is not cooloing right. i have a thermometer in side and the temp. ranges from 42 to about 50 degrees . ive manually opened the door located in the freezer above the ice maker to allow freezer air to pass over to the fridge side but it closes after a few minutes. i could tell that it should open and close on its own but i guess its not. any suggestions would be appreciated..
I have the same fridge, but a complete different problem. We just moved into this house and bought the fridge separately from the previous owners (so it's not covered under the home warranty). Our fridge side is freezing everything inside. It's on the lowest (warmest) setting and it froze a gallon of milk over night! The freezer is extremely cold, too. I took everything out and unplugged it and let it get to room temperature, but that didn't help. We also cleaned out the coils. Any suggestions?!

I had the problem with the door getting out of alignment which kept the light switch from working. Thus, two light bulbs on all the time confused the sensors. This was discovered after technicians had replaced all the functioning parts (it was still under warranty!) and it was still not cooling properly. Finally, the store sent another person who figured out the door alignment problem! It took several weeks and was very frustrating. Now we know to watch the door and adjust it as needed. Seems like a design flaw to me! I hope GE has figured it out by now.

HI I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT YOU ARE...I NOTICED THAT THE FRIDGE DOOR WAS OUT OF LINE WITH THE FREEZER DOOR AT THE TOP...IF THE FRIDGE WAS EMPTY IT WORKED FINE, BUT WHEN WE REFILLED IT,IT WOULD STOP COOLING AGAIN,I THINK IT'S GOT TO DO WITH THE WEIGHT ON THE DOOR MAKING THE DIFFERENCE IN MY CASE...I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SWITCH AT THE TOP, INSIDE THE FRIDGE THAT OPERATES THE LIGHT AND THE TEMP CONTROL IN MY CASE.TRY OPENING THE DOOR JUST A LITTLE SO THAT YOU CAN SEE IF THE SWITCH IS BEING FULLY CLOSED...I THINK I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ADJUST MY FRIDGE DOOR UP TO GET IT TO DO THIS FOR ME...WILL LET YOU KNOW IF THIS WORKS!!!!!
