Polaroid HD flat screen TV with DirecTV

I pressed some wrong button on control trying to use DVD. Now nothing works except the power. I have pressed reset button and unplugged TV for 15 minutes. I am trying to get it to go on vidio 6 to watch TV, Instructions say TV must be on "setup" channel to work., and to use Mode button to go to "setup" I find a setup button at top of the polaroid remote. Is that the one to use? On the Direct TV remote is a button that moves right or left. On the left is a directv logo. I leave it set on that. Is that the "mode" button?

Bought a new POLAROID mod FLM 3238 hd tv. Have direct tv with a D11-300 receiver and an RC23 remote. I can not control the power, sound or mute with the RC23 remote. I have to use the Polaroid remote to control these. This means that I have to use two remotes to control one device. I've called direct tv and POLAROID techs. many times and they can not figure out the problem. The guy that installed the direct tv said that if I would have bought any other brand other than POLAROID, the RC23 would work. I have a feeling that I need the right setup code(which no one seems to know). Could anyone help me with this problem?

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DVD PLAYER, MY SON PUT THE DVD IN AND NOW WE CANT GET IT OUT,,, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT TO DO?

I have the same problem , i was using the directv remote to control my dvd player and must have pressed a wrong button now the only button that works on the remote for the tv is the power button. And the only button that works on the actual tv is the power button as well. The volume,channel,menu and input buttons on the tv are not working. The sound and picture are fine because i switched the inputs from the dvd to directv and no problems.I called Polaroid and they said i could send them my tv and they would send me a refurbished one for $300 but i feel there is a easy fix but they just wont tell me how to do it. Any help would be appreciated , i lost the actual remote a few months ago not sure if buying another one would solve the problem.

I have a polariod flate set, when turn-on I get a white screen and some time sound. what may be the problem? Sometime I get vertical colored lines that fad out when set is truned on.

There is a infrared Red light that is on when the TV is in OFF mode. Very annoying when you are trying to sleep.

If there a way to turn it off?

Pressed something on remote and cannot get tv to work. Its on but when I go to source and choose tv nothing happens except a blue screen with 2 symbols on it that i dont understand

I have Polaroid TV Monitor HDMI LCD 15.4" no power light on TV, blank screen, the power adaptor is Ok 12VDC supply. I need suggestion; in any possible problem or parts busted?

Press input and then select dvd. After a few moments the dvd will start up if one is inserted.

Our new Polaroid flat sceen has the built-in DVD player, for some reason the DVD will not play. All it shows is "No SIgnal".

If your television is programmed to that remote, then, at the top of the remote, change the switch that moves right to left to TV. Find the button that says Input and press it until it goes to video 6 on the Television. Then turn the switch that moves from right to left to cable to operate the cable box. Normally, on most televisions there is an input button on the set that can be pushed to get to the input you want. If this doesn't help respond to this post and I will reply.

Here are some remote control codes that have worked to control Polaroid HDTVs:

My 19" w/DVD uses the following Mitsubishi code: 10178
Dish Network remotes: 627, 659, or 688
DirecTV RC64 remote control revealed a code of 10835. This means that 10835, 0835, 835 or some variant many work with many programmable remote controls. On my DirecTV DVR system, this was indicated as a Moxell and/or Motorola TV code.
Use the mitsubshi tv codes they worked for me.
Try Element codes if they are listed in your remote code list.

What should I do if my TV screen turned black, blue, or gray?

Proceed with the troubleshooting steps below only if you're seeing:

Black, blue, or gray screen
"No Signal" message without the DIRECTV logo

Note: If your TV screen appears "frozen" or you're seeing wavy lines or overlapping images, try this.
Solution 1: Check that your TV is set on the right input

Solution 2: Reset Your Receiver

Note: If you cannot locate the red reset button or your receiver does not have one, unplug the receiver's power cord from the electrical outlet, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in. Then press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver and wait for your receiver to reboot.

No response to any button on remote or tv except power button

Press the 'Favorite' button on the remote. You may have accidentally pressed it. It locks the channel. Pressing again unlocks.

Polaroid TV Code

Hello,

About the only thing you can do is do a code search. If it doesn't show up then, the remote does not have it (as with most tv/dvd or tv/vcr combos).

Turn the TV on manually. Then, push the switch at the top to the far right (to the TV position). Simultaneously press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons until the TV light at the top flashes. Release the buttons, then press and release 9, 9, 1. The TV button should flash again.
Press and release the 1 button again, then press and release the TV POWER button. Press and release the Channel UP button about once a second until the TV turns itself off. Press and release the select button, and you should be good to go.

If after a while, the TV button starts flashing rapidly, then there are no more codes to search, and the remote does not have the code, and you are stuck using 2 remotes..

Cannot return to TV from DVD play

Hello,

If you have a Directv receiver, and you have to be on channel 3 on the TV to watch it, then we have to get you off the video input. On a Directv remote, there should be a button toward the top left hand side that says "TV input." Try pressing this first. If that doesn't work, then look for the button on the Insignia TV remote control that says "tv/video," "source," "input," or something along those lines. Press it (some TV's make you press it several times to change the input). Just make sure that your Directv receiver is on before you start pushing buttons.

The sharper image jumbo touch panel remote control, can program every appliance (tv, dvd,etc.) except my directv hd receiver. no codes listed in booklet for the hd receiver, tried the codes for regular...

The instructions that came with my remote were COMPLETELY incorrect. I made note in pen in my jumbo remote manual. After hours of searching the web and piecing together various blogs, I wrote these easy-to-use instructions:

Place the jumbo remote and your old remote on a flat surface, head to head, with a 1" to 2" space in between (the remotes should be aiming at eachother).
Press and HOLD the device button on the jumbo remote (eg. TV) until the jumbo remote's small indicator light turns solid red.
Press the LEARN button once on the jumbo remote. The light will blink rapidly.
On the jumbo remote, press the button that you want to perform the learned action (eg. If you want the jumbo remote to turn your TV on and off, press the POWER button on the jumbo remote).
Press the same button on your old remote (eg. POWER button on my old tv remote control). When the jumbo remote's light changes from rapid flashing to slower flashing, press ENTER on the jumbo remote.
You're done! Try the jumbo remote out (eg. Aim the jumbo remote at your TV, press the jumbo remote's TV button, then press the jumbo remote's POWER button). Your television should turn on or off with your jumbo remote.

You can program any jumbo remote button this way (eg. MENU, EXIT, MUTE). Just make sure you press the same button on each remote in steps 4 and 5 (eg. MENU on jumbo remote, MENU or LIST on old remote).

Directv remote code for polaroid tv

Slide top button on remote to tv. Press and hold mute and select button until the green light on the remote blinks twice. Then press 991. Then press 1. Then press the tv power button once. If the tv doesn't respond hit the channel up button on the remote. If that works press select to store the code and slide the switch back to the left. If it doesn't work keep hitting channel up until it does. It can take up to 30 minutes but it works.

Try this: On the Tivo remote press and hold the TV Power button and the Directv/TIVO button at the same time. Hold both buttons down for about 4 seconds or until remote light stays red. Then press the channel up button until the tv turns off. You may press the button over 100 times. You need to go slow. When the TV turns off press the enter button (or select button).
