2001 mustang, mach460 6 cd changer, reads slots full, they aren't

I have a 2001 Mustang with a mach 460 6 cd changer. A cd got stuck will ejecting from slot 2. Took magazine out and was able to remove all the cd's that were in it. Reattached the unit, did a reset, after inializing, it now thinks that all the slots are full (which they aren't, there are no cd's in any slots). when try to eject tells me cd error, when try to load tells me all slots full, then cd error. Can anyone help me with this problem??? I just bought this car 2 months ago. Thanks, lovemymustang.

Press the cd button. Right after pressing cd button press scan(shuffle) to next disc. This should be repeated for all 6 slots. Should reinitialize cd slots for proper read--empty. Hope this helps

I HAVE A 2002 MUSTANG GT. THE CD PLAYER IS MESSING UP AND HAS BEEN FOR A WHILE NOW. IT KEEPS TELLING ME CD ERROR AS SOON AS IT IS STARTED. IF I PUSH THE LOAD BUTTON IT TELLS ME ALL THE SLOTS ARE FULL, BUT...

Sound like the cd player itself has the issue. It will have a small sensor in the player to tell the user if all the slots are full with cd's or not. thats either gummed up or blocked from doing its proper job. as far as the cd error goes, thats your laser. If its still the stock 6 disc cd changer, its a good time for you to concider changing out that cd deck.
good luck bro

2005 ford mustang v6 , my cd player does not function it reads that their is a cd in it and that it is jamed and if i put one in it ejects it it is a 5 cd changer but the radio works fine..

if there is no cd in the deck, problem is the load sensor in the deck. not really fixable, for the headache if that is the problem, I would visit your favorite store and replace the deck

CD changer reading "CD ERRor"

reset your radio by unplugging your battery for an hour and plug it in to see what happens. if not then time to replace. these cd players look nice and all cuz they are 6 disc but dont read mp3 well and get stuck easily with thicker cds

6 cd changer mustang stereo

on newer Mustangs, they have to be programmed, also look on the back of the unit and make sure all wires are secured and plugged in

Cd player

My CD player jammed while testing it during my test drive (2001 GT), and they offered to replace it.

I found out that all of them do it. When I eject my disc, and it jams. If you look into the slot, you can see the cd. It is just not quite aligned right. Use your fingers to tap (as hard as you can) on the front of the deck. It should knock the cd loose, and it will come out. Works every time for me. Don't wait for the error to come up, as soon as you notice it didn't come out, do it, and it should eject just fine.
