My power dvd not playing dvd with udf file system

DVD players should read UDF discs. What is the file format of the video beneath?

you are right, Win Xp is not Blu-Ray compatible unless you installed UDF reader. UDF reader is a driver which lets you explore Blu-ray and HD-DVD UDF v2.5 disc in Win XP's file explorer.

1. After downloading extract the file to any folder.

2. Right click on thdudf.inf and choose Install.


3. Once this is done, reboot your machine.

4. After reboot your system will be able to read the new UDF 2.5 file system recognition.

5. If you want your system to read video files, you have to download codecs.

Try using windows media player or Real player to play a DVD and see if you get sound. If not try doing windows update <start> <program> <windows update> Updates usually fix that sort of thing. If nothing helps then look up on the web for DVD decoder for your Operating system.

You may not be able to play UDF file. But you can rip the file, and download a file converter program and
then burn it on a disc in AVI or DVD file.

If it is on a computer, than you should be able to download a UDF codec

Go to control panel
click add or remove programs
and then remove the older version of power dvd
and then install your latest version

normally when installing a new version of it disable or uninstall older version for the latter. so there is no cause for alarm.
