Sound problems When we connect to our family in Australia we can see and hear them perfectly, they can see us but not hear us. I've done the mic set-up a few times and everything works fine there, but when we are connected the mic doesn't seem to be picking up our voices.

Have the same problem as Mack 79. When I connet to my daughter in Vegas, I can see and hear her, but she can see me but not hear me. I have done the mic setup several times but when we are connected, I always have the same problem. I live in Canada and phone conversations are very expensive. Please help me solve this problem.

Hi mack79, I would assume that you are using Yahoo Messenger on a Windows machine. By "I've done the mic set-up ...works fine there", again I would assume that you have tried the YM Call Setup Assistant and you have a green light on that. By "...connected ...doesn't...pick... voices.", perhaps you simply have to activate handsfree. If my basis for assumptions are off, pls post back with details: 1. laptop or desktop; 2. are you using an external keyboard with Audio in/out; 3. is the Logitech built-in mic the only mic attached to your PC; and 4. are you using headset or external speakers? Good luck and kind regards.

Driver for genius videocam HS-02N?>

Drivers for headset is quite standard for every Windows, you have to check did you choose right enter for your Mic. usually it's red color. If you hear sound well on your headset, then Mic must work well too. I've got on my computer enters for sound and for mic on the front panel and on the back. Sound goes well from front, but Mic doesn't at all. From back panel all - sound and Mic - go well

Hi kasper,

I see that you are having issues with the system regarding the mic, you can hear your friends quite fine but when you start to speak they hear you but it lags or is choppy is that correct?

I saw on your notes that you've already done basically everything on the system untill reinstalling windows have you tried a diffent MIC to use and see the difference.

I hope that this helps.

Have a nice day,

Headset Problem Rosetta Stone

I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in someway connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you.

Follow these steps each time you want to use it and you should be fine.
*I'm on Vista, but this should work for every one.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Hardware and Sound
3.Open Sound
4.Set Line 1 as your Default Speaker
5. Refresh the Mic list
*All of your mics should now show up.
6. In Rosetta Stone, apply the mic you want and finish the setup.
7.Start whatever language you're using and switch back to the Sound menu.
8.Set whatever speaker you want to use as default.
*Rosetta Stone will continue to work fine until you close it, switch Users, or remove the mic.

In short you have to set the default speaker to LINE 1 to get the mics to appear. Then when you apply the settings switch the default speaker back.

Sound problems

You must go into the Tools Option where you sign in on MSN Messenger and change the microphone/speaker settings there. It is at the top of the window where you can see your status and all your contacts listed...the window that comes up upon "Sign In".

These override any settings you may have changed in the control panel.

Yes...it works with Windows Vista.
