Setting correct paper size

I am setting up to print a 20 w by 24h photo on canvas on an epson 9600
when I specify the paper size is the width first then the height and do I need to include the white area?

By trial and error I found that the paper is specified with the width then the lenght of the paper.

Even though the graphics show you that you are printing the image either vertical or horizontal I still wanted to know when I set up my non standard paper size of 24x 6 which was first the width of the paper or the length. I didn't see that in the manual. All our problems should be so small.

Thanx for the reply though

I have a Epson pro large format 9600, I print on canvas, I have use Photo black since I have it, but never getting a saturation ressult. I have been counsil by Epson to use Matt black rather than Phot

"Photo black" is designed specifically for glossy photo paper. Matte black is for non-glossy paper, including plain paper. Matte black will print darker on non-glossy paper than photo black does.

Scanned document is 8.5 x 14 even though setting says 8.5 x 11

You probably have the PDF programme page size settings incorrectly set to the larger size = why only able to print some of the length. As a solution, use a photo programme (Photoshop, Elements or the excellent FREE Faststone Image Viewer to resize the image so it will then print on your paper but so doing will reduce, slightly, the width to suit the revised shorter length to preserve the proportions/balance between length and width.

Image prints at the edge of the canvas

you should check the paper size loaded at the driver open devices and printers- choose HP DJ5500 driver - right click and open Printer properties-click the paper/sizes tab at the top-check that the paper size is set to ROLL- then set roll size ( 24"=A1--36"=A0---42"=A0/2A0)
now when you try to print make sure that the printing application ( EG paintshopPro) has the correct Page size (under document Properties)
and that your not strectching to fit or using the overprint commands within your printing application. the plotter should never be allowed to overprint as this model has no ay of clearing the excess ink that would be left on the platten

I have an Epson R1800 and when I load Roll 13X19 matte media and try to print I either get a "jammed media" message or the printer trys to print without feeding the media.

I had a similar problem trying to print epson pro canvas. I finally learned the "trick". First I generally cut an appropriately sized pice of canvas from the roll. Then I attach a HEADER. This is dome by cutting a piece of 13" wide photo paper in a three inch length (so you have a piece 13" x 3") . Draw a line at 1.5 inches and place some sort of adhesive (I use a double sided tape gun) on one side of the line. Line up the canvas/paper with the line and make sure it sticks to the header.

Now you should be able to manually feed the header/paper into the printer - once the header passes the correcct point the printer will "grab" it a position it correctly for printing.

Hope this helps

Epson cx5000 all in one

Work around solution is to trim paper to 8.25 x 11 inches and  setup a 8.25 x 11 custom size and then specify it each time you print. You probably can get by using the 8.5 x 11 setting on 8.25 paper but do not use borderless printing. Good luck on a very irritating problem.

Epson R1800 prints do not lay out on paper correctly; off center

Hi-

But goal is to have a borderless printout right? when you go to page setup and choose paper sizes when you go to letter size, does it have a slider for letter- borderless? and when you go to file print and and check the print setting/ print layout is fit to page selected?

keep me posted. Thanks!

EPSON STYLUS 9600 CANNOT PRINT COLORS CORRECTLY ON OTHER APPLICATIONS EXCEPT ADOBE READER

While there is not a lot of information to go on, I think you have color space/profile issues. Almost everything Adobe uses AdobeRGB and everything MS uses sRGB. I had similar issues although not quite as severe. Sometimes I even had to restart the computer between jobs in order to get the right profile loaded in all devices. Finally, I got all my settings to match (AdobeRGB) on the computer, software, and printer. I had to calibrate my screen. The accuracy of the color on my 9600 and other devices improved dramatically. Hope this helps.
