SOURCE: How to tell if computer hardware will be sufficient for Flight Simulator X

As per Radeon, they are stating that:

The Radeon™ 9250 provides the perfect balance of advanced 3D graphics, an enhanced multimedia experience and multi-monitor support, at a great price point.
At-a-glance:

  • Best performing graphics card in this price segment.
  • Superior image quality for a variety of digital applications, such as viewing digital photos, streaming video and gaming.
  • Digital video support for single and multi-displays on a VGA monitor, flat panel and TV screen.
  • A four pixel shader pipeline architecture and up to 256MB of DDR memory for fast action graphics.
So, if they are true, then it should be work...........

Thanks

SOURCE: I have a Dell GX620 Optiplex. The DVD will not

I think what TENNHICKS200 was trying to say is unplug the cd/dvd drive from the motherboard either sata or ide (i think it's sata for 620) into another sata port. depending on which form factor you have, you may only have one port for both hdd and cd/dvd. if this is the case (1 port for each) swap the sata ports and see if the hdd is being read in the bios before you boot to windows. if the cd/dvd drive is being read in the bios and is not burning in windows, then my friend, you have a defective cd/dvd drive.

SOURCE: Dell Optiplex GX620 not recognizing PCIe video cards

1.make sure that the video card that you use is really working
2.make sure that you connect the video card first before installing.
then after you connect the video card wait for the popup at the lower right of the screen then when you see a pop up that says driver not installed the put your installer then after installing the computer must be reboot or restart for you to be able to use the newly installed video card. if that still did not work send back your video card it my be static or it may not be compatible with your computer. but if the video card work try this, right click on the desktop then you will see the graphics card name if not your video card is not properly installed or broke. send me a message for more info.ty

Hi ,
You are probably facing a power supply issue , though this device isn't exceptionally gready in power consumption .
You will need to replace the PSU by a larger one . 450 Watts will do but don't hesitate to go for a 600 W since these units are fairly cheap .

Hello there, I am the Expert that will be helping you today, my name in damnor01.

Welcome to Fixya.

Your graphics card is overheating and is therefore switching itself off to prevent damage.
Install as many fans as your computer chassis will allow. You need to get some air to flow over the heatsink of this card.

Test this theory by removing the graphics card and then using the onboard Video on your computer mainboard (VGA)
If all is well then it confirms the theory.
However if there is still a problem then we can safely say that it the graphics card is not the cause of the problem.

Use my published guide to download and install the latest AMD Radeon Drivers.
It is entitled, How to install Graphics Drivers, Nvidia and AMD Radeon!!!

Dell optiplex 210l mini-tower video card upgrade

Before upgrading a video card, it's strongly recommended to check the wattage specification of the power supply unit. If the installed power supply unit can cater the need of the newly installed video card then it can be used normally.

You may refer to the user manual of the Computer to check the wattage specification or the Power supply unit(PSU) or directly open the tower to check for the printed value on the PSU itself.

Graphics card

Well, I'm assuming that you have a Dell OptiPlex GX620.

These computers come with built in video which means that there isn't a video card, the connector is connected directly to the motherboard.

This means that you'll need to find a compatible video card to install in your computer. I can't tell you for sure what is compatible because I don't know what form factor (physical box size) your system uses and smaller form factors require smaller sized cards.

Here is the user manual for your system:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx620/en/ug/A02/index.htm

Go there and choose the computer you have...
Select the link for "Desktop Computer"
This will give you information and links to find out what your computer specs are.
You will likely have an open PCI Express slot that you can use. The only question is whether or not you need a low profile care or not.
