Sometimes there is interference with another device like a refrigerator that can cause that. they say you can take a magnet & wave it on the green & move it across & off of the screen to try & remove it.

This can be a green crt or green driver pcb problem. You can try and unplug the tv for 30 min. and plug it back in and turn it on, but the problem will most likly still be there. A repair shop will need to fix it from there.
Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.
do you happen to have any speakers of any size within about 3 feet in any direction of the tv??

I have large speakers about 5 feet from my tv at home and i still get some distortion once in a while with red and dark green streaks.
