Most every machine has an oiling diagram in the instructions but if yours is gone then don't be afraid to take the covers loose and oil anywhere 2 moving metal parts come togeather but only a drop. Over-oiling will cause a heavy collection of lint and dirt possibly causing damage later on. Don't be afraid to remove the covers, just put them back on the way they came off. While your at it, give it a good vacuum, or blow and brush it out. Good luck.

My machine sounds like it needs to be oiled.... i have a tube of oil but dont know what parts to oil

Go to the manufacturers webpage on your machine. If it has a support page with the owner's manual, it will show you where you should add oil.

How to oil Spartan 327k sewing machine

Use only sewing machine oil. Get an oiler with a long spout so you can reach far places, put a single drop of oil on every place that has metal moving on metal.

How do I oil my Janome My Excel 18 w ? My machine has started to make a squeeking sound when sewing .I think it might need oiling but dont know where to put the oil?Can you please help me with this .

Take off all the outside covers you can, then basically put a drop of oil on anything that moves when you turn the machine over by hand. After this run the machine for a couple of minutes with no thread or fabric, you then need to wipe up any excess oil and refit all the covers.

How to oil

some machines have sealed bearings and need oil only on a few external moving parts .. most older machines need just about everything that moves oiled periodically .. we need a model number to tell which you have ... use only oil intended for sewing machines .. other types of oil might become gummy after a while and make a mess of the machine .. if you can open the machine to see inside .(usually the top comes off) .. then anything that moves not made of plastic gets a drop of oil .. there are usually several places under the machine that also get oiled .. in general if it moves oil it ... dont get oil inside the motor where the brushes are ... if your machine has sealed bearings then you dont have to and shouldnt oil them..
