Question about Toshiba 37RV635DB Regza 37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV w
Turn power on at main side switch. LED 1 green light. led 2 & 3 off. After approx 10 secs green light turns red. Unable to get any picture. Have attached xbox & digibox to ports to input a signal. Remote ctrl appears to work ok on other tv. Side on button held for a few seconds & green light on again for another 10 secs then red again. Have checked capacitors for leaks & bulging. No dry solder joints apparent. Any ideas please? Many thanks.
Seems like capacitor problem, chack them and if thay have exploded replace them.

These types of problems are allways hard to diagnose.. If you were to power on the set and preform tests, you would think that everything was fine until the moment it shuts off.
Look on the main power board and see if you cant find the thyristor (thermal switch), those are the things that when heated will cause the set to power off for safety reasons.. They are normally placed where ever a large heatsink is. That may give you a location as to the problem and you can put a meter around its 2 pins with the set off and unplugged a couple of min after failure, if its short (0 ohms) thats not the problem, if its open, it triggered the event.
Second, you can run the set for a while and check the voltages and Ve, Va, VCC, Vsetup etc and compair to the markings on the plasma PDP sticker. If you see one is falling down over time (volts will be lost as heat) then you can isolate that portion of the supply.
Third and allways the best way to go about these problems is buy a thermal gun and moniter various spots for heat.
Its just vary hard to say, resistance could be off somewhere, diodes could be overheating as well as fets and caps. Thats why a good thermal gun can point you to exactly where the problem is.
Hope this info helps, but I would suspect the problem is on the main power supply itself and not the y sus and z sus boards side boards.

Part of the power supply is in protect mode. There is most likely a short or something failed on one or more of the boards.
The service rep would swap out boards to locate the fault. Then he would leave the new board(s) in the set, and perform any necessary adjustments.
Take the set in for an estimate before approving repairs. There are many times these sets are not worth serving when they are out of warranty.

Welcome to the world of HD TV sets. Many will last only a few years, regardless of brand. The cheaper ones last only till the warranty runs out and some of those only have a 90 day warranty.
Sounds like a power supply problem but can't be sure without opening it up. The repair cost is almost as much as a replacement set. Many choose not to repair and sell the set to others to try a repair on their own. Options are, pay $200+ for the repair, find another same set with a different problem (broken screen) and use it for parts to fix yours, or sell it as is for someone else to try and fix it. Let me know if you want to sell, I am in Ont also.

place to begin if you are able is examine the power board for puffed up caps and or voltages coming into the board and out of it.
