My RCA pearl mp3 player wont turn on. It just goes to the first screen and stays there.

I loved my Pearl but I misused it in a way that destroyed the SW inside. Study the user manual closely.

When my Pealr powers on the screen only stays lit few seconds

You can try a master reset which your provider will be able to provide the steps to you on how to do it, or the manufacturer's website. if a reset doesn't fix it than you need to get a new phone through your replacement options for this is a device issue.

My rca pearl comes on with a screen that says

Sounds like the firmware on the device is corrupt. Try reinstalling the firmware, it can be downloaded here:
http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2556

You may want to back up the media on your device as a precaution before doing the upgrade if the media isn't currenlty on your computer.

When i turn it on the screen says pearl and wont turn off

The other day I replaced my battery and my unit would not go any further than the Pearl logo. So I downloaded the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1, and followed all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:

start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button when the the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

You might want to leave the "format data" box unchecked to see it that works. I couldn't play aac files without formatting, but you may not have to format to fix your problem.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again.

Blackberry pearl 8100 blank screen & green blinking light

Try performing a hard reset: remove the battery from the device while it is still powered on, leave it out for 30 seconds, then reinsert.
