How do you replace the belt on the Eureka 4495A Upright?

hi there,

on this model there are 2 screws on the top of the unit just above the brush as you are looking at it.
Remove the 2 screws there and the top cover should come off.

There is also a black and yellow sticker under the top cover near the belt that describes in detail on how to change the belt there. Once that is done line up the cover and put the screws back in.

Good luck .

I need instruction on how to replace the drive belt.

first unplug the device...depending on the model you have there are two screws that hold the cover onto the unit. sometimes they are hidden behind the rubber wall guard and sometimes they are hidden in the random designs on top or even the bottom of the unit. you unscrew the screws (usually 2) and remove the plate. you should be able to see the drive belt now, remove and replace with the new one. (it would be a good idea to clean hair etc out while you are in there :) ) make sure it turns freely and replace the cover, screw it in. vacuum to your hearts content

How do you change the Hoover wind tunnel belts?

If you turn the vacuum over there will be (4) screws that hold on the base cover for the roller brush. Remove the screws and the cover and you can get to the belt(s). You can get replacement belts here:

Change belt on a hoover tempo

Remove the cover that covers the roller brush, (four screws) and remove
the roller brush and replace belt, it goes between the motor shaft and the roller brush. Replace the cover and that should do it.

I want to replace the belt on an upright eureka vacuum model 4481, any ideas?

I just replaced the belt on my 4481. Very simple. Be sure unit is unplugged. Unlock handle and let it lay down. Remove two screws on plastic cover. I purchased my belt at target for 2.54. Part number anywhere is Eureka U. Remove the roller brush. Loop belt around drive motor first and then around roller brush inserting the roller back into place belt side first. Replace cover and your ready to go. 10 min fix.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BELT ON THE FANTOM® THUNDER® AND FURY®? a.gif fantombeltchange1.jpg

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. From the front of the machine, remove the collection bin.
  3. Facing the back of your vacuum, remove each of the Philips head screws located above each of the rear wheels. (Figure 1)
  4. To remove the base cover, place your thumbs in the two screw holes in the back of the machine. Push forward and up on the screw holes to disengage the 3 cover locking tabs. Put the cover off to one side, and go to the front of the machine. (Figure 2)
  5. Check the drive arm for any black streaks which indicate residual rubber from the last belt. The drive arm is located on the right side of the motor. The easiest way to remove any residual rubber is with some nail polish remover on a rag or with steel wool.
  6. To attach a new belt, remove the brush from the base of the machine by pulling up straight up with two hands.
  7. Take the new belt and hook it over the steel drive arm. Pull back on the belt slightly, to create some tension.
  8. Put the brush inside the belt loop so that the track for the belt is aligned with the belt itself.
  9. Replace the brush by aligning the metal end so the points face downward. (Figure 3)
  10. Rotate the brush by hand to check that the belt is running freely and easily in its designated space between the bristle.
  11. Replace the cover by placing the nose in first. Once in place fasten with the two cover screws and then replace the collection bin.

Hoover savvy changeing belt

There some screws on the bottom to take off, then turn vac upright, under the round Hoover logo sticker is another screw. It is just a sticker, so will peel off. You can work the belt onto the motor pulley, or unscrew the motor, put the belt on the pulley, then reinstall the screws to hold down the motor.
