Gateway 450 ROG service manual

I had the same problem.
The "Network Controller" in my case had to do with the wireless network driver on my 450ROG.
None of the drivers that are available for 450ROG on the Gateway Support site worked correctly.
Here's what I did to solve the problem:
1. Flip the computer over. 2. On the back, you may see a little module that says "Fitted with Intel WM3B2100 802.11b". That's the built-in wireless network card (had no idea this computer had one, I inherited it). 3. Go to the Intel support site:http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ 4. Do a search for the "WM3B2100" driver. 5. Download and install the driver.
Fixed it for me!

The above error message displays your computer hardware gone bad.Please change the hard drive. It will resolve your issue.

Are you using sp1? I think that this is the only version of xp that don't support SATA. Then it's time to upgade to sp2 at least.

at the the top of webpage hit arrow on page in tool bar then you can change text sizes or zoom in and out.

also have you gone into device manager and update your display driver
if this does'nt help i can give another solution

I would personally say that it was the motherboard, but it would be impossible to guareente that unless an inspection was carried out.

The support I could offer if you wanted me to take a look would be for you to send the laptop and power cables to us, we would take a look. If we cant fix it we will return it to you with no charges. If it can be fixed you would be informed of the cost before we go ahead and do it.

If it's still under warranty, it's definitely worth repairing. If not, get them to quote for the repair they say it needs before agreeing to it. If their quote is anything close to the current price, I would say it's not worth it.

Hi, The only easy check I can suggest is on the memory. Flip your notebook so that the bottom is facing up. Locate a small panel (with 1 or 2 screws) roughly 3X3in. Inside would be 1 or 2 memory strips held in place by 2 retaining clips, one on each side. Moving the clips slightly away from the memory would free the memory strip and partially spring up. It can now be easily removed. With a pencil eraser, clean/rub on the little gold contacts at the bottom. The slot where they mate with their holder could also be cleaned with an old toothbrush. If the above does not correct the errors, then perhaps you are better off seeking the services of a qualified professional since the unit may have to be opened up and diagnosis performed on its various components.
