Hi,
I have x3 JL 300/V2 which all suffer from the same fault- shuts down as the input sense is increased. Are the ment to do that??? Do they have some kind of protection circuit that stops the user increasing the input too far???
Thanks for your reply...I am testing it on a test bench the power supply measures @ 13.4v. I am looking at trying to disable the deadtime controlHi,

Ohhhhh!!! We have been using a 7 amp continuous which worked ok with all the basic MTX amps we had...!!! I think you may have answered my question! Il keep you posted...Many thanksOhhhhh!!! You may have a weak power supply, check for proper ground ( clean contacts with a tight bolt to chassis), or too low speaker impedance because too many speakers or shorted speakers or leads to ground.
To test Power Amplifiers of that size, you need at least 30 Amps Current, 50 will be ideal, otherwise the system will shut down at high volume. To test Power Amplifiers of that size, you need at least 30 Amps Current, 50 will be ideal, otherwise the system will shut down at high volume.

Does it only happen on that channel. It is a 4 channel amp so make sure the other channels are working. It sounds like an RCA input prob. Try the sub on the other channel. if it works then it would be your RCA input needs resoldered.
Are you sure you getting enough power to push everything. I have seen when the voltage is too low coming in, the amps will shut down so they don't overheat. Once they've cooled off and the volume level is lowered they will kick in again. Low voltage and a heavy draw will create massive amounts of heat.
Yes it possible that the inputs have been damaged on the circuit board of the amp. If the amp has hi level inputs you could try running a speaker wire input to it and see if it works. You might try another pair of rca cables to.
It is NEVER a good idea to increase the values of fuses . Chances are you have internally damaged your amp. The next time you are faced with this problem you need to find out why your amp is blowing fuses and not keep changing the value of the fuse.
Hi, i have similar/same problem, on initial power on, you have after 3 -4 secs an audible click from inside and all is good... if you then try to change inputs either via front panel and or remote, the unit switches off. if you change input prior to audible click, ie within 2-3 secs of power on , all is good and amp works fine, until you change input etc...very painful fault.. i thought it is sensing /checking the speaker outputs and detecting short etc ,so powering off to protect.. but then just my thought, i suspect something else, if anyone has the fix and can repair , please let me know.
the amp it going into protect mode because there is an internal fault with the amp. it will need to be repaired. best this to do is find a repair shop and let them handle it good luck man
You should definitely upgrade the power wire to the sub amp to 4 gauge -absolutely your choking your amp its starving for current-poor thing is starving !!!!!!!
