White background I have a screen saver that comes on the opening start up screen and then immediately turns solid white. The icons are there - but only a white background. When I click on internet explorer, I have the same thing for a few minutes - white background and then a noise and sort of regular color. The start up screen background is always white. This just started - I have tried everything I know to do, which since I am not an expert, is not alot! Please help!

Well, first thing would be to turn off screen saver. Right click on the screen anywhere, go to properties, screensaver, from the pull down check none, apply and close. May need to reboot. then let's see if it's a screensaver problem. Good luck

I want my original yahoo mail screen saver with the white background

In the upper righthand corner of your yahoo mail, there should be a little gear icon. Click on it, then go down to settings. Under the "view your mail" tab or whatever it says there, go down to the bottom where it says "basic". Check the little box and hit save. That will revert the layout to what's called the "classic" view.

Sounds like you have power saver turned on. Go into "display properties" under "control panel". Go to "screen saver" Check your "Power" settings. Un-check "Hibernate" or look and see power settings are and adjust accordingly. If they are all turned off, check your BIOS settings on your PC. It mights have a power saving feature in there.

I need to restore icons on desktop, tried to do so, nothing works. The screen saver has covered the entire desktop face. cannot remove it.

I am not sure that the screen saver is making problems.
Screen savers turn on after at least one minute of no activity, and turn off when you move your mouse or press a button on your keyboard.

Start your PC in 'SAFE MODE' . Are there your desktop icons?
Disable or uninstall the screen saver and and restart in 'Normal mode'.

    Regards.
