I've had my HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer for a few months now and I've been experiencing a persistent problem with it. When it prints it frequently leaves a thin vertical white line an inch or so in from the left side. I've tried cleaning and recalibrating the machine several times and have replaced the toner cartridges but the problem persists. Any ideas what else I can do? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Brett
A WHITE line usually has a particular cause.
Do a test print with a block of each colour CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW, BLACK in turn in the area where you see the white line.
The chances are that there will be a white line through just one of the colour blocks.
Remove the colour toner cartridge that is showing the white line.
Looking at the cartridge from the side that faces into the printer, it will seem to be noticeably in two halves, with a gap between. Look down that gap, and you will almost certainly see something that is obstructing the path of light from the laser unit to the drum of the cartridge. Carefully remove the object/debris, your problem will be solved.
IF the location of the WHITE line moves to different places across the page from time to time, you may have some sort of insect living in the printer. Strange, but I've seen it.
Which color is this line? Try changing respective cartridge..
