Blue light blinking on s1719 sharper image tabletop air purifier

I believe that a blue blinking light indicates that the stainless steel collection blades need to be wiped clean. The unit uses these blades instead of a replaceable filter. Simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth and you should be ready to go!

did you cleen the fins on the inside remove them and clean them verry well

I just typed in an msg on how I fixed mine. Im an old lady, and figured what the......... cant hurt. so check my msg here somewhere, and start taking out the screws. good luck, in the last couple of hours, ive fixed two of them, just cleaning the contacts. good luck to you.

The ionizers were recalled by Sharper Image due to a lawsuit that they lost forcing the company into chapter 11.

There isn't one. The reason why Sharper Image went out of business is because the Ionic Breeze was proven to be ineffective product and harmful to use in some cases based on Consumer Reports data as well as data from the EPA. They sued Consumer Reports, lost the case, and had to pay all the legal bills.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to making decision on all ionizers by the end of the year. It's quite possible that no one will be selling them anymore.

There is thread I left in the Ionic Breeze section about the EPA data on ionizers and the harmful effects of using them as well as a link about what happen to Sharper Image.

This product should have been regulated a long time ago. Orek and few others are going to be pulling the plug on them real soon.

Unfortunately, I can't find that information, as the company is currently in Chapter 11 and has sold off all rights to it's products as of June. From my experience though, when the light begins to flash, it is supposed to be replaced. At least I had to replace one that way while under warranty.

Wher can you return it? Does anyone have and address? My Dads unit has a blinking blue light and the folks at sharper image say to bad so sad only after 2 months out of warrenty. I have the small version Quatra our older unit finnally died so sharper image sent us this smaller version. This will be the 2nd or 3rd replacement with in a week of getting a repalcement everytime the light starts blinking before it can even get dirty.
