It seems like you may just have a display option you need to configure. In the Finder's preferences you can choose which types of volumes to show in finder's sidebar (ie. Removable Media, Removable HDs, etc.). If you can find the CD-ROM in Finder at all, you simply need to Right-click and choose "Get Information" from there you can set preferences for that type of media ( you can do this for ALL file types on osx including HDs, Media files etc.)
U must set jumper on you'r HDD and CD-ROM, so you have primary and slave IDE controlet, remove HDD and CD-ROM and set HDD jumper master and CD-ROM jumper on slave. If is posilbe use two IDE cables one for HDD and one for CD-ROM. Have luck.

The Quick Cam line ever had drivers for Mac OS versions. See the specifications here: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/quickcam-connect-product/specs . The E2500 works with Windows XP and Vista. You may be able to use the camera in Boot Camp running one of these versions of Windows. The Quick Cam E2500 doesn't work with Windows 7 and newer Windows OS versions.
The Logitech Webcams, including the C525 and the C920, will work with a Mac directly.
