Hello,

I have a snapped cable on my Myo 3 and I need to disassemble it to repair this cable, but I don't know how. I don't want to use force andbreak it to pieces. Have anyone experience with disassembling it?

My myo rxp flashes randomly when it is on a constant light setting. I have replaced the batteries but the problem still persists

What kind of batteries did you install? Sounds like you might have either installed improper batteries(power) and light is swithching to reserve mode to save power, or possibly a previous battery leaked causing corrosion on the contacts increasing impedance.

2 year old, well maintained Myo XP that has never been submerged or been seriously soaked. Yesterday, I turned it on and 1 second later it went out. Batteries are good. Wiring solid. No battery level...

Its a bit late now i know ; although somebody may get some use out of the information 'that' the 'myo xp' has a manufacturers warranty of 36 months (3 years),
mine has gone the same way after 18 months so its about to go ,back to its roots !

Petzl tikka plus torch repair

I understood that fixya was free from reading the word free all over the place. I wasted my time filling in the form to find out it was not free, but only 7 days free trial but you needed credit card details before. I will not be the first to write this and am tired of being told things are free when they are not. Do not mislead people.

My myo xp headtorch has suddenly stopped working. As the bulb can't be replaced, how do I fix it?

Very strange. Mine just suddenly stopped working last night as well. I have changed the batteries, but it makes no difference.

Petzl Tikka switch is not working properly. Light not steady.

Hi,

Would you describe the light as flickering and fading perhaps? Are you using rechargable or Lithium batteries?

Here's an excerpt from a Petzl alert put out a couple of years ago. It may shed some light on your problem..

LED light sources are susceptible to being damaged by the use of lithium batteries due to the different characteristics of lithium batteries in discharge. This has meant that some people have had problems with their headtorches failing when using such batteries... Petzl have reported this problem and other manufacturers are expected to follow suit. However this does not affect all head torches...

There are problems being reported over the LED lamps in certain headtorches when used with lithium batteries. Incandescent bulbs will also suffer a reduced burn-time when used with lithium batteries although this is less severe.
This is because the lithium batteries have a higher output during discharge.
The benefits of a lithium battery are the increased burn time, especially at low temperatures over the traditional alkaline batery.
LR6 or AA and LR03 or AAA are the two size of battery litkely to be used in a headlamp.
Petzl are one of the few manufacturers to advise on this at the moment. Other manufacturers products will also be affected.
The following Petzl headlamps should not be used with lithium batteries:
  • TIKKA / ZIPKA range: TIKKINA / TIKKA / ZIPKA / TACTIKKA / TIKKA PLUS / ZIPKA PLUS / TACTIKKA PLUS / TIKKA XP / TACTIKKA XP / TIKKA XP ATEX / TIKKA XP HAZLOC.
  • MYO range: MYOLITE 3 / MYO 3 noir / MYO XP.
  • DUO range: DUO LED 5.
  • SAXO AQUA.
  • MYOBELT 3
  • DUO LED 3.

How to replace halogen bulb in petzl duo headlamp

    Hi,

Easy enough. The grey rippled rubber ring around the glass is threaded. Grab it good and tight and twist anti clockwise and it unwinds like a tank track..

    Hope this helps...

Are Petzl climbing helmets ok to use @ OSHA worksite

    Hi,

The Vertex Vent and Vertex Best are the only two of Petzl's range that are rated for commercial use. The rest are sport models..

The link here is for their site..

    http://www.petzl.com/en/pro/helmets

Any half decent outdoor/climbing shop will be able to sort you out. Don't be surprised though if shops don't stock the commercial range as therer's not a lot of turnover on it. A good store will be able to get in gear for you to try..
Personally, I have come across a few people (tree surgeons and mountain rescue mostly) who will still choose the sport models for the lightness and less bulk but we always advise them not to.
If you are in the EU then the ratings on Petzl's site will be correct but if you are in the US or AU then it would be worth checking the local regulations before purchase. I don't see it being a problem though, Petzl are globally accepted.
Either way, it could be an insurance nightmare if there is an accident involving someone wearing gear that's not covered..

    Hope this helps..

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp has a short and is eating batteries

There's really not much that's serviceable in these things. Try cleaning all the terminals again but this time use VINEGAR instead of alcohol which does not neutralize the corrosion as vinegar does. Just dip a q-tip in the vinegar and swab it on the terminals, then with a dry one, swab up the excess. Then install all NEW batteries, do not mix old ones with new ones as the new ones cannot make the old ones work any better than they are used. If they still don't work, welome to the world of cheap products that are intended to be tossed when they quit functioning. Good luck. :)

    Hard had

Yes, but it's not an industrial hard hat.. And you would be in breach of all sorts of insurance regs if you wore it on a site.

Petzl have two in their range that are rated for commercial use, The Vertex Best and the Vertex Vent.. See the link below for more info..

It's not worth the risk for a few quid less..
