Question about Epson Stylus C48 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Cartidge problem My Cousin asked me look at why her C48 would not recognise, so called compatible cartidges. Her brother had purchased two color and 2 BW from a local dealer but these are not recognised. When the old cartridges were replaced the error report had changed from out of ink to unrecognised again. She had removed the removal strip from all the new ones but these were not physically the same beneath the romoval strip as her original ones although the cartridges were marked Epson C48 The rest of the container looked identical to tje old ones. Q: has the replacing attempt damaged the printer and what action shpuld she take next Thanks in anticipation Tony

I replaced the black ink cartridge and there was still colour left. When the colour cartridge got low the printer would not work and I could not fit a new colour cartrige. Eventually I managed to get the cartridge in the position to remove the old colour cartridge and fitted a new colour cartridget but unfortunately the printer is still not working.

Many "compatible" cartridges are badly manufactured or even labeld wrong. These can damage or block the connectors on Epson printers. your best bet is go buy new ink and try them, then if it still dont recognise, you could buy some ink cleaning cartiridges and give them a try - Google "Epson Print Head cleaning" Failing that go buy a new printer - Epson's are real cheap new.

I recently purchased a refurbished Intellifax 2480C. When I attach it to the power line, the Fax button lights up and I am unable to bring it to the Copy button. 2. I have put in a Black cartridge but the...

Yes, you need to have the color cartridges installed. The print head could be damaged by running cleaning cycles without ink for the entire system. Since the Copy mechanism is the same as the Print mechanism, it explains why you can't enter the copy mode. The unit will store faxes in memory until the memory is full - so the unit will work in Fax mode for a while.

I wish that I had better news.

Yellow will not print. Have changed cartidge to full one and still no joy. Have performed head cleaning procedures 10 tomes. Other colours are fine. Is there anything I can do. Model is DCP-145C purchased...

It may be a busted cartridge. Try again using this time a genuine cartridge.
Turning the printer off, even for long periods (days, not weeks), shouldn't have any effect if the ink is of good quality.

Cartidge problem

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Compatibility of Ink cartidge.

The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.
