GE handset 28101 will not sync with base-GE 28129

Unplug power cord from the base for ten or fifteen minutes, this is the only user level operation that you can do to try fixing the problem.

If after resetting the base still do not find the handset, then either the base or the handset is faulty.

If the base works fine with a different handset, then it is the handset.

Phones are powered but do not connect to base so can't receive or make calls. Is there a way to reset?

The manual, which can be found at: http://www.home-electronics.net/ge/pc/IB/25952EE1_IB.pdf, reads:
4. Place the handset in the base cradle. The charge/in use indicator turns on,
verifying the battery is charging. The unit will take 20 seconds to register
and verify its security code. READY shows in the display.
NOTE: In case of a power failure, the handsets may display
UNAVAILABLE when the TALK/CALL BACK button is pressed.
You must then place all handsets on the main base cradle
for 20 seconds to re-register.
That should reset your handsets. Hope this helps :) Thank you very much.

No dial tone
• Check or repeat installation steps
• Make sure the base power cord is connected to a working electrical outlet.
• Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the base unit and the modular phone jack?
• Disconnect the base from the wall phone jack and connect another phone to the same jack. If there is no dial tone on the second phone, the problem might be your wiring or local service.
• The handset might be out of range of the base. Move closer to the base.
• Make sure the battery is properly charged (for 16 hours).
• Ensure the battery pack is installed correctly.
• Did the handset beep when you pressed the TALK/CALL BACK button? Did the in use indicator come on? The battery may need to be charged.

Re-registering handset ge 27851

This should work. Unplug the base power and leave unplugged or a minute or two. Plug the base back in and place the handset you want to register as handset 1 on the base and leave there for 20 seconds. If you want to register more handsets then place each one in the base for 20 seconds in the order you want them numbered. If this doesn't work you may need to remove the batteries from the handsets as well when you unplug the base. I hope this helps.

Just bought an additional handset for GE 27951 expandable 6.0 DECT Cordless. I press and hold the Page button for 5 seconds but the new handset will not register. Error keeps occurring "no base."

This exact thing happened to me. Same model number. No matter what I did, the new handsets would not register.

The solution? Reset the entire system:
1. On the BASE - Unplug from wall both power and phone line. Unplug battery from base handset.
2. ON the Extension phone - unplug from wall and unplug battery from handset.
3. Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes.
4. Plug back in BASE power.
5. Plug back in BASE phone line.
6. Plug back in EXTENSION handset battery. Don't plug in BASE handset yet.
7. Follow steps to program EXTENSION. When successful:
8. Plug back in BASE handset battery.

GE MODEL 28112 DECT 6.0 CORDLESS PHONE

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

GE Cordless phone Model No # 27996GE3-A

I looked at the manual, and there doesn't seem to be a way to un-mute the mic. On other models, the Menu button is also the Mute button.. The only thing I saw that might be the cause is the following:

If this only happens on one of the handsets, did you register that handset? It must sit in the base cradle for 20 seconds before it's registered:

NOTE: In case of a power failure lasting more than 5 minutes, you must put both handsets on the main base cradle for 20 seconds to re-register.

Can't use the second phone GE model 25861GE3 5.8

You may have several problems. First, you should verify that the 2nd phone works. Unplug the battery from the "good" phone and place it into the "bad" phone. Then try to reset the "bad" phone by placing in the homebase charger for 2o seconds.

If this doesn't fix the 2nd phone, then it has an internal problem, possibly.

As far as the 2nd charger goes, please verify that it works by placing the "Good" phone in it to see if it will charge it.

Additionaly, you may need to "reset" the whole system. Do this by :
1 Unplug phone line, power to charger base, and remove the batteries.
2 Wait a couple of minutes.
3 Plug in battery first, then phone line, and finally the power cord.

Then try to set the phones in the basecharger. (If the new battery is not charged yet, then you will have to charge it first!)
