Screeching is always caused by dry metal on metal. It need oil on anything that spins or slides. See if the brake actually has fibre pads like the disc brakes on your vehicle.

either installed wrong --or wiring short ----if you did repair re open saw and check wiring ,connections and install of component if done by shop return for them to fix

Yes the Milwaukee 6268-21 does require the use of certain jigsaw blades. You have to use T-shank type blades. You push the tension lever hold it while putting the blade in as far as it will go, then you release the tension lever slowly and it will engage the blade. You should then check by pulling on the blade to make sure it is seated properly and will not come out.
