Your vertical coupling capacitor is going bad, without a schematic you don't know which cap this is. Might I suggest that you get a schematic from the vendor or from one of the site on the web that carry schematics. To fix this problem you need to know which cap is the vertical coupling capacitor.

Hello,

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER

Hope this will help out.....

I have white horizontal lines about 2 inches at top of my tv

You have some bad grounds on the Vertical IC. In addition to this, in the immediate area of this Vertical IC, are a few bad capacitors. Look for this IC mounted on a large heatsink. It may have seven pins . I cannot remember for sure. I have not worked on this particular TV, so I cannot give you specific locations. But I assure the problem is in this area! If you have some electrical experience you can pull this board out. In this case only the caps need replaced and the IC resoldered. Good Luck and thank you for asking.
