This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems, to activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)

Power not coming on

Power does not come on for the following reason, THE POWER SUPPLY is bad. Unplug the power cord, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and hit the power button. If you see no lights, hear no fans running, don't hear the disk drive running, don't hear the cd drive click once and don't see the light on the cd drive come on for a second or two while it clicks, then you are getting no power and need to replace the power supply.

I have a Sony FD Trinitron Wega (KV-32HS510). When I attempt to turn the tv on by pressing the power button on the remote or on the tv, the standby light comes on and I hear two clicks but tv don't...

The primary power supply is good, maybe the horizontal output transistor is deffective thats why there is no high voltage supply in the picture tube because theflyback have no supply voltage and oscilation. So check the harizontal output transistor and replace if deffective.
