I have a frigidaire, front load washer that will fill up, set for a long time (not wash) then drain and spin.
I cannot find any technical data listed on my system for this machine so i have to speak generally, if the motor works at some point then its highly likely to be a timer fault, although on one Zanussi? i did have a motor turning only one way round and that was a module PCB fault, so the cheapest option would be to look at the module first for any marks, before replacing any part of this expense please confirm with a local engineer, some will do a free estimate before doing any of this just confirm you have checked the wires on the pressure switch (round device near top of machine with a thin pipe from it,) did this fault just happen or have you worked on the machine previously?, sorry i can only be general about this machine. hope i have helped you eliminate something at least.
I am a recently retired engineer and based on the info given, you are saying the drum wont go round?, then start with the belt, then the motor carbons, assuming this model doesn't have an induction motor, you didn't quote a model number for me to be sure, if carbons are ok then check the main pcb (module) to see if any thing is burnt or damaged, well thats a start to be going on with, further help if not successful but need more details, model number etc if i have helped rate me please

Barnsleymick,
Thanks for that info. I will of course check the belt first. The belt is attached and does not feel too loose. Is there something else I should check for? The model number is fwt647ghs1. The drum does spin, but only to rinse.
