Canon ZR70MC Mini DV Digital Camcorder just stops

We have the above camera, and it was fine for about a year then suddenly just stops recording while we are trying to use it. The batteries are charged and the battery indicator shows full battery, but the recorder just stops... any suggestions??

Hello, Sorry to hear that your Canon ZR70MC is not functioning. It would be our pleasure to assist you in being able to capture your once in a lifetime memories again. What is the estimated purchase date of the camcorder? If it is still under warranty the repair will most likely not cost you anything. Camcorder Repair http://www.precisioncamera.com/

How long recording time with a dv tape in canon zr70mc

That obviously depends on the length of the tape. With an 80 minute tape, you can record for 80 minutes in SP mode or 120 minutes in LP mode. With a 60 minute tape, the numbers are 60 minutes and 90 minutes.

How do you put video from your camcorder to your computer?

With a Canon ZR70MC camcorder, you can record video onto miniDV tape, or onto the SDmemory card in Card Camera mode.

To access video on the miniDV tape, you will use the DV cable (IEEE 1394 aka FireWire). Connecting this cable to your windows computer will allow you to transfer high quality video using the software supplied on the digital video solutions disc, or just about any other windows video editing software.

To access videos stored on the SD memory card, remove the card and place it in a card reader connected to your computer, or attach a usb cord to the camera and the computer. Video stored on the memory card is limited to 10 second clips @ 320x240 resolution.

Transfering from a hard drive camcorder to a mini dv

Yes. Using a DV or firewire cable and the right software you can record to DV tape. I know Pinnacle Studio software is capable of doing this and will even control the recording of the taping as well through the sofware.
