Laptop internal speakers are not working...

Salutations,
i am having HP compaq laptop ( presario cq40) . it was working properly for a couple of days from purchase but then an internal component failed so that the display panel stopped working and it was taken to the service center and is alright now.When i tried playing a song, i noticed my internal speakers not working . only when external speakers are attached to it, it is audible. i checked with all the possible volume options, but dint work. please suggest me the possibibilities that i can try with.

Usually the internal speakers work when the stereo jack for external speakers if removed from the socket, so just give it a try....................sodeep

sounds like driver and software issue.. go to device manager make sure the webcam driver is properly installed, if not go to Compaq website or google search for the device driver..

How do I test my internal microphone, it is not working. my laptop is compaq presario CQ 40

do you use any programs like skype / voip? Then in some case you have to configure the audio setting to work with your microphone. users manual can give you more knowledge. here is the link.

Good day! I got problem with my compaq presario CQ40. Whenever I tried playing music, It looks like its delayed or static sound. I already checked it in the device manager under audio and its working...

The speakers maybe malfunctioning or the music players setting is set to static sound. Try checking it.

NO SOUND VOICE EXIST IN MY LAPTOP COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ40

1. check ur sound driver. reinstall it.
2. check sound options in the control panel.
3. if still not working, put external speaker to ur PC. if sound is coming then ur laptop internal speaker need need to check. may be loose connection or it might need to change.

The monitor reads: system boot failure. Insert recovery disk.

McAffee Security or adding memory cards should not effect the ability to do a system recovery, but so be it. Here is a list of presario laptops, do you know which is yours?
