Playstation 2 power button

All cords are ok red light is on but nothing happens when pushed to turn console on??

Try pushing the eject button to see if the power button is faulty. If the PS2 is off and you press the eject button, it automatically turns the PS2 on and ejects the DVD tray.

try unplugging the AC cord from the wall and wait 5 minutes before plugging in.

try unplugging AC cord from wall and wait 5 minutes before plugging in.

This is a PS2 Slim model SCPH 79001. Reset button does not work. When I plug it in the red LED lights up but when I push the reset button nothing happens.
check the connection, if you have the ps2 plugged in and it wont turn on it would be best to return it or have someone look at it.

Can either be the power button(pretty common issue or a loose connector).Depend what kind of machine you have .PS2 have a common denominator...but actually the machine are different each other.The FAT one and the Slim one are totally different

Ps2 slim will not power up
usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.
