Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera
I've had the white screen problem for a while and I was fixing it by sharply rapping the "Cyber Shot" logo. Two days ago I tried doing the same thing and it seems like it was one rap too many. Now the lens is stuck inside, the little lens door is open, the camera won't turn on (so the effort to reboot wasn't successful) but it doesn't make any noise at all. Does anyone have any idea what's actually wrong and/or how I could fix this? I would appreciate any suggestion. Thank you in advance!
Yes indeed, the fingertip rap on the logo did the trick, nice catch!

The lens will not move, but you hear the motors turning, trying to move something. It grinds away for a while. The plastic lens cover remains open.
