Many computers don't automatically turn on the external VGA connector when you hook up the cable to another monitor. One of the function keys (often F5, but not always) will turn on the connector. Usually the key has a symbol on it that looks like a monitor screen. When you press that key it will turn the external VGA connector on or off. On some computers the sequence goes laptop screen on and external monitor off, laptop off and external on, both on. Once you have the external connector turned on your projector will work properly.

No signal from computer to projector

That might be because of the weak or bad connection of computer or the projector. Also you should check whether the projector is out of order or not.

I need to connect my vaio(vgn-nr17g) to a projector,but i can't find the drivers for it!!

When I connect a computer to a projector no additional drivers are needed. Just connect the VGA or DVI port to the projector. The projector may be the limiting factor, though, as far as detecting the signal from the VGA cable, and you may have to follow the instructions of the projector to make it work correctly as far as when to power up the computer and what not.

Good luck on this.

I installed windows 7 English version over a Japanese version (same windows 7) on my pc, but now it does not detect projector when I am trying to connect. Any solution?

It has nothing to do with installing English version over Japanese version , check it whether it shows in device manager or not,installed it. If you don't get the message"New Hardware Detected" when you plug the projector into the laptop, you probably don't have the drivers for the projector loaded into the laptop or computer and the computer doesn't recognize the projector. After your finished using the projector, be sure to disconnect it properly from the laptop. There is an icon in the tray, "Safely Remove Hardware". De-activate the projector BEFORE you pull out the USB cable from the laptop.

Just connected a laptop to TCP260 and can't view computer image. Do I need to install a driver on my laptop to run the projector?

Reboot your Laptop, while connected to the projector which has been turned on in advance. Otherwise, simultaneously press Fn + F5 for the command to to transfer to other monitor plugged in. Toggle and wait at least 1 minute everytime to allow the computer to stabilize

I keep getting a no pc signal even though I'm connected.

if you get no power, you'll need to replace the power supply. if you are just not getting a signal, reset the settings to factory default on the projector and replace the cable.

No signal

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the "No Signal" error message indicates just that, it is not receiving anything or that the signal it receives is beyond its capacity. With this in mind, pls check:
  • the cable connection from PC to Projector;
  • that the PC is set to display on a 2nd monitor, TV or Projector depending on the capability of the PC's video card (Twin View or Dual View); or
  • as main monitor;
  • lower down the computer's Screen Resolution and/or Screen refresh rate.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

I've bought a USB 3RCA data cable to project video from my Laptop to me TV/projector. However it doesn't work, and no signal appears to be received by either TV or Projectors... USB 3RCA Cable from PC...

i hope that is a USB driver issue when u plug your device does your computer detect any usb device and then its says unknown/unrecoginzed device. You have to check the cables first then you download USB2.0 driver install it inyour computer andl aslo try to connect the device in another port also put the the driver cd for the TV/projector
