Fuse Specifications

Suresh,
Most of the time you will need either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse for your microwave. You will want a ceramic fuse and if you still have your old one, the amp rating and all info you need will be stamped on one of the silver collars at each end of the fuse. Hope this helps!

I have a lg microwave oven model mc-2681ds stopped working the service centre people say its circuit board needs to b replaced . coz of 6-7years old model the company doesnt have its spare circuiT.

Before you dump it, if it is totally dead with no lights or anything, I would check to make sure that the fuse inside is okay. Make sure that the unit is unplugged and turn it around and take the screws out that hold the cover in place and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the microwave and follow the black wire from the cord to wherever it ends. It should end at either an inline fuse folder or at a small circuit board. If it goes to a board, your fuse will be mounted on that board. Remove the fuse and have it checked with a multimeter set for continuity. If it is bad, replace it with the same size fuse, you will find the size stamped on one of the silver bands at each end of the fuse. It will be either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse usually. If you put in a new fuse and it blows right away, that means you have a short somewhere and you would need to have a repair tech look at it. Hope this helps!

Blowing breaker

In general house hold circuit breaker of the house is 15 Amps or 20 Amps.

Either you have defected (weak) circuit breaker and wiring or bad Microwave oven.

The 99.99 % house hold Microwave ovens pull less than 15 Amps. They may have internal ceramic 15A fuse or 15 Amp internal circuit breaker.

To isolate your problem:

1. Plug your Microwave oven to different areas (different electrical circuit) if the different circuit breaker still trips... your Microwave oven has a short - Most of them has a small ceramic fuse 15 amps fuse.-also check some inter lock switches at door .

2. If the Microwave oven works Ok then you may have:

2a. You may overload the existing electrical circuit, try to unplug some other appliances

2b. You may have bad electrical outlet receptacle (Replace it with the same type , - may need helps from licensed electrician)

2c. Weak or defect house hold circuit breaker. (Replace it with the same type , brand - may need helps from licensed electrician)

No power but outlet is functioning properly

There is a ceramic fuse inside the oven. Remove the case and follow the cord from the back of the oven to the fuse. Replace with on of the same amp size.

Cooks Model 2115 microwave oven will not power on when connected to the 110v outlet. Can this be a fuse problem? If so, where is the fuse located?

Yes, is probably the fuse. I have fixed several microwaves with this problem and the fuse is almost always located just inside where the power cord enters the unit. Just remove the skin (usually screws on the back and BOTTOM also) test the fuse with a micro meter. If no contenuity, replace with same size, type and rated fuse. Most microwaves are 20amp fuse.

Viking Microwave Model VMOC205SS little over 4

9 amps is approx. correct. Does magnatron make an odd sound when running? If not, you will need to discharge cap then clean terminals with alcahol. Replace diode as well. Should run correctly. If blows again, replace magnatron. Suggest you put a 12 amp fast blow fuse in circuit and nor a 20 fuse.If you dont have a grill or an oven, use a 10 amp fuse.

Sharp Carousel Model#4A58: was cooking & made

If you have no power what so ever its probably the main fuse inside the mirowave. You'll have to take it apart. If you try this yourself unplug it then there are several screws around the cabinet of microwave remove them and make sure that they go back where you took them out from because they may or maynot be the same size or length. once you get the cabint off follow the plug wire up into the micro wave there may or may not be a fuse on the wire just inside the frame of the Microwave but it will be close when you find it take it out and replace with the exact size take it to a appliance parts store and get the replacement.
