Kenmore 70 series barrel will not spin in spin cycle
The washer will wash fine, drain fine, but when it spins, now the barrel will not spin, even tho the agitator tries moving...I'm a single mom with only 1 income. I have a health issue and no vehicle. I live on the 2nd floor of my 4 plex & and im desparate need of fixing my washer any ideas?
This was helpful, TY! The washer started making noise, thought the belt needed tightened or replaced - still a possibility, and now, the clutch issue seems logical. TY again! This was helpful, TY! many machine spin a full tub as they are pumping the water out
this helps to even out the washing load and reduce the unbalance situation
when the water is removed , the machine progresses the program to a high speed spin
call a technician as there may be a problem in the program board
Check door switch: If
the lid switch is bad it will not drain or spin. Try this test: With lid open
let it finish wash cycle. Press lid switch down with screwdriver. Washer should begin draining.
Release switch. Motor should stop. Press
switch a second time. Washer should
start spinning as it continues to drain. If motor doesn't come on while lid
switch is pressed, replace the switch.

This is usually caused by the lid safety switch. When the switch malfunctions, The washer believes the lid is open and the washer will not spin or empty. The switch is intended to prevent injury during the spin cycle. The timer could be bad but it is usually the switch..
look at the bottom of the control panel on the end caps and back out the two screws then pull the control panel slightlyforward and tilt it back then you should see gray wires either going in the body of the washer or to a switch on the left side un plug the harness and put a jumper wire across the connector going to the control panel then try spin
