Philips Plasma Flashing Red

I have a 42 inch plasma TV. The screen is flashing red and I do have sound. I tried unplugging everything but it still flashes a red blob on the screen.

i have the same problem.. at first only the top half of the screen was flashing now the whole screen does this.

Every plasma tv ive come across with this symptom eneded up beeing a new panel. what i do is replace the x and y sustain boards and if that dont work youll need a new panel.

Philips flat screen 42" flashing red light 7 times it stops for 5 seconds and 7 more flashes if i unplug and plug it a few time it will come on

my 42 inch phillips, i turn it on green light comes on for 10 sec then red light comes on and flashes 4 times then stops for 5 sec then repeats.

This fix was posted on similar problem, worthy of repeating: Replaced 3300mf 10V capacitors at PS. Both had bulged slightly. Upsized to 25V as the previous solution poster had suggested 16V but I could not locate 16V so used 25V and TV is back to normal!
