Focusrite Saffire LE FireWire Audio Interface Sound Card Logo

No sound device connected to pc!

I recently installed my Saffire le to my NEW pc (xp home ed).
Drivers are up to date and I verified the fire wire is working. Saffire control LE sees it, and device manager tells me that everything is working properly. The problem is that Cubase Studio 4 fails to see it. It appears on the device drop down menu, but when I try to "switch" device it states that it is not connected........but it is installed.

This is a problem with your firewire interface. I had the same problem with the original Saffire. You have to change the firewire driver to the legacy firewire driver. I saw this on google somewhere but couldn't find in my quick search just now.

Saffire pro 10 not recognize by PC again

If your Saffire Pro 10 is not being recognized by your PC, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem.

First, make sure that the Saffire Pro 10 is properly connected to your PC. If the connection is loose, try tightening it. If that doesn't work, try reconnecting the Saffire Pro 10 to a different USB port on your PC.

If the Saffire Pro 10 is still not being recognized by your PC, you may need to update the drivers.

To do this, go to the Focusrite website and download the latest drivers for the Saffire Pro 10. Once the drivers are installed, restart your PC and try connecting the Saffire Pro 10 again.
I hope this helps!

Hi I have just attempted a number of times installing saffire pro 14 on my pc with windows xp sp3. I inserted the saffire resource cd first to launch mix control and it keeps telling me that windows does...

In control panel audio set saffire as default. Also check that in audio properties you have speakers or headphones or whatever you using checked off.

If this doesnt work, uninstall your realtek program and drivers then reboot, this should force your saffire card to take over.

Last.. you may need to go into the bios and disable onboard sound,as a matter a fact do this first. the old soundblaster cards had the same issues.

My Saffire Le doesn't show up in AUDIO DEVICES but all is instaled corect and in my device manager I can that fire wire and Saffire are ok please try to help... it began after I reinstaled windows (now...

Go to Volume Controls - Options menu - Properties... is it in the Mixer drop down box there? You might find the problem is that any onboard soundcards you have on the motherboard are now set to default since you reinstalled. In which case go to device manager and disable it. If problem persists try a reinstall of saffire whilst the onboard card is disabled. Some motherboards allow you to disable the onboard sound from the bios menu too, that could be something to try

Firewire connection lost

Ok, here it is. There is an answer is the answer based section on the Focusrite website. Basically it is recognizing it as a firewire device and not an audio device, or so I have gathered. So you need to uninstall the Saffire software and then: 1. Find your FireWire (IEEE 1394) controller in Device Manager (START>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>). 2. Click "Update driver" 3. Select "Browse my computer for driver software" 4. Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" 5. Install the driver that ends with "(Legacy)". 6. Reinstall your Saffire driver using the latest version from the Focusrite website, and re-connect your device.
Hope this helps,

V3424au presario notebook update

This is possible but will take some patience. Install Windows XP & Service Pack 2 Then check what drivers are NOT installed by going to device manager. Then go the the Compaq page that lists the drivers for Vista: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&product=3446906&lang=en Make a note of the name/model of these drivers and search for the XP equivelent usually by visitng the device manufacturers website. Im sorry this is complicated and long winded but its the only way.
