    My dryer will run & heat for only 15 seconds then stops, repairman

    says it is the control board. I called Amana since it is only 1 yr. old

    they will pay for the part, but it will take 6 days to get the part and install.

    Where did you get the part so quickly?

    Can my husband install this if we can get the part?

    I have a brand new HE2 gas dryer that will power up, but won't start drying. We have a service call in, but no one can come out for two days. We've unplugged it and let the timer run all the way down. We still have nothing.

    I have a GEW9250PW1 Front Load whirlpool electric dryer~ Tried to turn on this morning, sounded like a click in control panel to left of dryer but only sensing button came on. I unplugged, turned off breaker and tried to turn back on. No luck. Vaccumed out dryer vent area and filter , no luck.

    Still just clicks like it is trying to engage but nothing else. Please help/[email protected]

Ensure machine is disconnected from the mains supply.
Check thermostats, under rear cover. They should be closed. If in doubt, bridge them one at a time, then try the machine.

Since no help was available without premium assistance, I actually contacted a repairman. He performed all the tests again and told me the problem was the control board. Then wanted $600 to fix. I found the part online for $150 and fixed it myself in about an hour. Instructions were easy.

My dryer turns on and reads sensing , but does not turn ....does heat

If your dryer heats yet does not tumble i would be looking for a broken belt..when its heating that means the motor is running,but since i suspect the belt of being broken its not tumbling

Duet dryer on sensing mode>what does that mean

The "Sensing Mode" occurs when the dryer is trying to detecting the dampness of the clothes in the dryer to determine if they are dry or not.

If the dryer is "stuck" in sensing mode - there is a problem that should be checked.

The timed dry cycle sometimes does not turn off;

If it continues running beyond the cycle point it probably is no longer producing heat and just tumbling. Eventually there is a heat sensor that is triggered. Mine does the same thing. It is likely the result of the timer going bad, though immediaely not a necessity to fix, in the long haul it will save you utilities.
