When I set the washing machine to go it makes a clicking sound then shows E40 flashing on the screen. Do you know what this error is, I have packed my manual away in storage!!
I've just bought one of these machines, and the manual says the E40 warning means the door is not properly closed. Seems like that would be obvious if it were true, but maybe check that it is closing completely.

E40 ELECTROLUX error fixed
Just fixed one E40 problem on my EWT10420W. Electrical locking of the opening was burned a bit and the connector as well. I bought a new el. locking (146 117 404/5). The connector is not provided as spare part by the manufacturer so I cut out the original burned one and connected the cables one by one. To reach the electrical locking only two side panels of the machine must be removed.

Hi i have a problem with my Electrolux ewf 1090 i have don the 30minute quick wash then i put it on for the 10minute spin when i push the button to start the marchine it make this clicking noises 2 or3 times then it come up with the error message i have switched it on and off at the power point i do the same thing over again and i still get the error message E40 that is what come up in the display window can you help me.
