Question about Little Tikes Swing Along Castle
I have a Cozy Coupe 30th Anniversary Edition and my husband put the wheels on wrong. He says if the wheels caps are taken off, they will break. I know that I can call Little Tikes and have them send me replacements but it will take weeks and my daughter wants to ride on her cozy coupe now. Any suggestions on how to remove the plastic red wheel caps w/out ruining them?
The caps are a type of "acorn nut". Check a local hardware store (not the big guys) for this type of fastener and bring the shaft with you to get the correct size. These should not cost more than about $.50 each.

Ok! I can relate to all the frustration. I happened to get into a similar situation with one of the axle caps. Though it looked impossible at first look, it actually is not that tough. Here is a 3 step solution -
Tools needed: Hammer, Screwdriver (flat head)
Steps to remove:
1) Cut open the red cap to expose the metal cap that is stuck.
Observe: If you closely look at the cap, there are two slits along its circumference. These slits are the ones which are locking the cap to the metal rod.
2) Hold the screwdriver to the base of one of the slits and hammer it down so that the slits loosen the grip. The **** would give way. Repeat this step for the other ****.
3) Now, hold the screw driver horizontally under the metal cap's lip (like how you would hold a filing rod to sharpen a kitchen knife) and gently knock off the cap by tapping the screwdriver with the hammer.
Hope this helps :)

How do you cut off the red part? I've managed to mangle it by prying with pliars, but that's about it.
