Hello annwiles,

Checking IRQ Conflict in Windows 2000 or XP:

1. Click on the Start button, and click on the Run option.
2. When the Run window opens, please type in devmgmt.msc and click OK.
3. When the Device Manager Window opens, click the View menu. Then, select Resources by Connection.
4. Expand the Interrupt Request (IRQ) category to view IRQ assignments.
5. Once you find your adapter on the list, check if the number that is assigned to it is the same as anything else on the list.
6. If your adapter is sharing an IRQ with another device, you may be having an IRQ conflict.

Resolving the IRQ Conflict:

1. Try placing the Network Adapter into different PCI slots. By doing this, the BIOS will assign the network adapter a different IRQ.
2. Disabling COM and parallel ports, or built in motherboard devices (sound chips, etc) in the BIOS may help to free up their IRQ's.

Note: Changes to the BIOS can cause major problems with your computer. If you are unsure, please contact the manufacturer of the PC for further assistance.

3. You may be able to assign IRQ's by PCI slot in the BIOS. Please contact your computer manufacturer for more information.

Hi, I have just purchased a new WNA-1100 wireless adapter. I have installed it with no problems, but when it asks me to insert the adaptor and press next, it just keeps saying 'detecting adaptor', for as...

Got this fix off of newegg, and it works for XP

Install the updated software package from Netgear. Go into C:/ Program Files/Netgear/ and copy the Driver folder. Paste to your desktop or wherever.

Uninstall the Netgear software. Plug the wireless adapter back in, let Windows locate, and point it to the XP folder in the drivers folder. You're up and running. ^.^

NetGear MA111 802.11b Wireless Adapter is installed and my wireless network signal is strong but after entering the WEP password to connect it won't connect to my network the tool tray pc symbol just says...

This means, that either the password is incorrect after all, or the router/access point to which you are trying to connect has some filtering enabled for security reasons - usually it's MAC address filtering, to allow only specified network adapters (hence - computers) to connect.
You have to contact the person that set up the router/access point.

Will not install

You mean the adapter is not recognized by your computer or the setip CD is the one that is not being read by your computer?
If the adapter is the one that is not being recognize by your computer try connecting it on another USB port on your pc and if still not detected by your PC try connecting that adapter on another computer's USB port just to check if it will be detected by your pc, if not retirn the device back to store.

But if you're saying that the setup CD is the one that is not being recognize by your PC try downloading the software from the manufacturers web site.

Hope it helps..........

Won't install properly...

Go to your power management setting and turn everything off. I don't know what version of windows you have, so I'll use Windows XP.
Start => Settings => Control Panel => Power Options. Turn all options OFF.
If it disconnects at random you may need to change the channel setting on the cable router.

Netgear has strong connection but it doesnt connect

I think you may that the "Drivers" & OR settings for this WiFi adapter are not working correctly. What ya need to do is Install the "Drivers" & "Software" from the Netgear CD that came with ya device and set it all up per your manual. Here are a couple of links to help below.. mobileoffice.about.com/od/findingusinghotspots/l/blwificonnectio.htm www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_02april08.mspx Basically, ya install the drivers & software reboot, insert ya USB WiFi into ya USB port, if it then asks for "Drives" point it to ya CD... when finished then you should be able to "See" ya Access point etc.. and connect.. setting any protocols you wish..
