Transfer picts to PC from Olympus Stylus 740 All weather

I gave a gift to a friend who is unable to transfer the picts from the camera to the computer. The friend has many serious health issues and I'm trying to get the info in writing so that I can send clear instructions by email. If you could help I'd appreciate it or let me know where to go to get the information. Thank you!

Well i plug in my camera, a olympus stylus 850 SW, and at the bottom right it has a bubble that pops up saying that the device plugged into the computer is not recognized. So pretty much i cannot access my camera. And i have 200 pictures that are unable to be downloaded.

I have working in a camera shop for a while and We are taught that there are two ways to extract informatiom from that camera, If you are going to tranfer using the USB cord, please use the software that came with the camera.

or for about $20 you can buy a card reader that you can use with out the camera and upload directly to your computer.

and a third option is to use a printing center to upload and save to a cd/ this is the best option because you can load it into you computer and still have the Disk as a back up in case of a computer crash , or load on multiple computers. and that cost about 5-10 dollars

Make sure the software that came with the camera is NOT installed. Assuming it is with a Windows computer with ME/2000/XP. Plug the camera in, ensure it is on and set to upload and Windows will take it from there. Windows Scanner/Camera wizard will come up and ask what you want to do with the images- simply select to download to folder- from there it can be allowed to simply follow its head and make its own folder usually taking the date as a title - -or make a dedicated folder or subjects names the whole operation is controllable by the user providing that take their time. It is essential the Software disk is left in the box - it only confuses things - computer and user.

Olympus stylus 740 when the camera is turned on

There is probably a setting on your camera that prevents you from writing to the card. There may also be a switch on the card that prevents the card from being written to.

Cannot transfer 2010 photos to imac

Use a card reader instead of your camera. When the icon appears on the screen, double-click on it and select the ones you want to transfer. Transfer them to a folder you create on your desktop and from there, you can do anything you want with them.

If it works, use it as long as you can.

Fixing snap-shooters is generally not worth it,
since digital cameras evolve rapidly and lose
