I am using a Belkin USB adapter to connect a foot pedal (DB9) to my laptop ACER, (Windows XP Professional). The foot pedal will not work for me. The pedal is fine on my neighbors laptop, is there a setting that I need to address that I have missed. Please Help. Thanks

Sounds like you need to install drivers.
Tell me the manufacturer and model number of the foot pedal. I'll track down a driver for it.

Oh...and I'll need the model number of the USB to RS-232 adapter!

You say it works on a neighbor's computer, does he use an adapter like you, or does he have a serial port (db9) on his laptop?

One thing you can do is find another serial device and try using it thru your Belkin Adapter...see if connunication can be established.

and I have one more thing for you...

the following is the first page of the F5U109 Windows XP Installation

If the adapter was partially installed or was plugged in before this

installation, Please follow the uninstall instructions first or the installation

    will not work.

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

This link will take you to uninstall and reinstall instructions...

    http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/f...

This is most likely the problem.

Let me know if it helps or not...if not we may have a "breakout" issue.

I just received a sony foot pedal FS 85 that will not work on my laptop- is there a USB adaptor available so that I can use this foot pedal

The FS 85 is obsolete. I am not sure if it can be adapted to usb but there is a USB version of that foot pedal, the Sony FS-85USB Foot Control.

Details are sketchy but the highest compatibility is Windows XP and driver software isn't mentioned by I would be surprised if it would function without an installed driver...

My Belkin USB 10/100 Ethernet adapter is detecting as a buetooth device when I connect to my laptop... I am using Windows XP as an operating system. I guess WIDCOMM in windows is causing that...

Wireless Zero configuration is a utility that connects your computer to a wireless network.

If Wireless Zero configuration is not enabled, the following message will appear: "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection."

Note: If you have the Belkin utility installed, you'll need to change the Program Choice in the Options tab so the Windows XP Utility is selected.

We've tried the belkin play wireless usb adapter in 2 laptops with xp pro and it wont connect the signals great it says the card is working properly but it just says it cant connect i've had this same...

Have you got two wireless icons down on the right by the clock. As it may be using the belkin wireless manager to control the device rather than the windows version.
