Olympus no longer offers the printed manual. However, you can download a copy. Almost any office-supply or printing store should be able to print and bind it for you at a reasonable cost. You'll have to contact the store for the exact cost.

According to Olympus the VN-4100PC is not compatible with the Mac.

sadly NO.  Once it's gone it's gone.

you will need a compaticord from the earphone of recorder to microphone of the computer. use the sound recorder software to record while you hit play on the recorder

I found software available on an international olympus website. I was able to specify my operating system and my digital voice recorder model (VN-4100 PC) and voila, it gave me the download link for the full version software (not just an update).

I had this same problem with my vn 4100 olympus digital recorder. I learn from someone else on this site that you could just hold the display/menu buttton and the stop button at the same time for about 2-3 seconds. the FOR display comes on and all you have to do is wait a couple of minutes and your recorder is working again. Just keep in mind that all previous recorder will no long be there. they will be deleted.
