My screen is blank but the on/off switch is flashing green all the time. When I hold it down the monitor turns off and when I hold it down again to turn it on, for a split second I see the screen but then it goes black and the button flashes green.
It is one of three things, One is that it's not recieving a signal, mine flash when the computer is shut down, several monitors do this now. The second is that the either the video card is in need of service, or if you don't have a video card in your machine, it is either a connection that is intermittent, check the other end of the cable, or the monitor is in need of service, there is a circuit board that gives it a boost on start up. How old is the monitor and what brand? all the info is needed to go any further, thanks, if it is 5 years old more or less it is the monitor gone bad, more than likely
SOURCE: blank screen, flashing green light
Internal power supply is hurting. It is a non linear supply and they switcher transisters are not working
SOURCE: Monitor flashes image for split second then goes blank but green LED flashes as well
while the monitor is still powered on, but with the LED flashing, unplug the monitor from the PC. press the power button, and the monitor should go off, now plug the pc back into the monitor. Turn the monitor back on and it should work.
Occasionally this will not work for me, but if I repeat it it normally works
Hope this helps - my problem is intermitant so it may be different to what u guys have

I think its the monitor, it is quite old. I have tried all the other possible solutions but no success. Thank you for your comments and assistance.
I'm having the same exact problem. My monitor is about 5 years old. Any solutions?
I have exactly the same problem. I connected another monitor and it worked fine. I bought it 5 yrs ago this July. I would expect a flat screen monitor to last a lot longer than that.
