so an eprom is a hardware component that may need replacing? what does "sub menu" mean, is there a sub menu that I can access, or is this the data that the eprom maintains?

where are the eproms located? I have had a look and can see some fuses that seem OK. As I am slightly capable, could I replace said eproms, given a decent diagram?

Eprom problems /sub menu settings/service call should solve it

  • Anonymous Sep 12, 2007

eeproms are located on the main pc board assy and on the convergence board, they must be unsoldered and reprogramed, you may try your sub service menu's if you can get your hands on the settings form a service manual or yoyr local tech.i would try this a service call this is not for untrained people, you can do a lot of damage to your set if not done right.

How do I reset the 52" TV to original settings. Screen is on Widescreen permanently

Could you please post exact model of your sharp tv. however i will give you this generic solution. In order to do this, you'll need to have your remote handy. You cannot reset the television using the control panel.
  • Turn your Sharp television on. Press the "Menu" button on your remote control. Press the "Right" arrow until you see "Setup."

  • 2

Press the "Down" arrow until you see "Reset" displayed under the Setup menu. Press "Enter."

  • 3

Type your secret four-digit code using the remote keypad. If you do not know it, you'll need to reset it by following the process in the section "Resetting the Parental Control Password." After you type in the code, "Reset to Factory Preset Values" will appear on the screen.

  • 4

Press the "Right" arrow to select "Yes" then press "Enter." The screen will show "Now TV Will Restart." Press the "Right" arrow then press "Enter." Wait for the television to reset and revert to the factory default settings.

For SOME of the Technics units it is as follows:

Also there may be a memory battery in the unit that is depleted that needs changing if you find settings are lost when power is removed.
