OS X 10.5.2 and above have built-in ZPL and EPL drivers. Plug the printer in to USB, go to System Preferences > Print & Fax, click + , and choose the Zebra driver. For the LP2844 you choose the EPL2 driver.
There isn't one. if you use Endicia for Mac, they have a built in driver for LP2844. make sure you have a real LP2844. there are fakes being sold on ebay - the LP2543, a printer massed produced for and used by UPS.
LP2844 requires DC +20V 2.5A and all have USB ports. endicia requires firmware be version 4.42 or higher. update at the zebra website using a PC.
I learned all this the hard way.
FedEx has their own settings for the zebra 2844. You must go to fedex.com and select your preferences once inside shipping. There you can select thermal printer. That should do the trick.
