Graphics Card My Gateway PC screen is completely black;it says that there is no signal. My computer is running perfectly;it's just the monitor.I followed the owner's manual to a "T" but still had no results.I phoned Gateway support and was told that the issue is most likely a graphics card problem. They said for a fee they could mail me out one and verbally guide me via phone as to how to connect the card to my pc.Question's:Any suggestions where I can purchase a graphics card besides Gateway? They want to charge me 70$ plus shipping.I have no clue if that is a fair price. And how would I go about how to connect the card myself?Any online tutorials? Thanks!

I have a PC made by Tiny. the graphic card installed is fx5200lp for some time it has come up with a blueish tint to the screen and then goes normal for a while and also does not turn the L.C.D monitor on.The other day i was using the PC as normal it was shut down at night and the next day when i turned on PC had a message on the screen NO INPUT SIGNAL i have tried to rectify this by buying a new V.G.A. lead but the same message appeared. I opened up PC removed graphic card and made sure it was seated in the correct position still having no luck. I have been to several retailers to obtain a new graphics card but get conflicting advice. Two of the capacitors seem to be rounded at the top where the rest are flat is this an indication that the card made now be faulty. any helpful advice would be appreciated

I have the xfx ge force 6200 on a biostar mob and recently reloaded winxp. Boy was i in for headaches with this card. It just kept giving the bsod and at times monitor did not receive messages.
I used to have the same problem before, but woth the older 81.98 drivers. I downloaded "nv4_disp error fix"(nv4loopfix.zip 0.54mb) and had no problems afterwards, until now, after reloading.
I installed the 178.24 driver and that was the start of headaches. I uninstalled and reinstalled the older driver, but same problems. To get some functionality, i set hardware acceleration in the display to none and the computer is working again. But forget about watching videos and anything that requuires high def graphics.

That card is totally disgusting and the manufacturer just dosent care. DONT BUY NVIDIA!!!!!!!!

It's a fair price for a general graphics card just to get a display back on your computer, and that's not too bad considering it includes shipping, but the prices of different models vary a lot. There'll be plenty of online tutorials such as this: http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-3118_7-5023982-1.html But before you do so, sometimes you don't get a display output because your monitor is plugged into the wrong VGA port. Look at the back and see if there is another of the same port located below where it is currently plugged in, if there is one - plug it in there and try again.

How to fix black screen saying no signal

NO monitor model nor PC told. ok.
the means PC is dead. NO SIGNAL
to test the AOC monitor or any monitor.
turn it off, then back on an UNDER 15Seconds
push menu KEY on the Monitor, and see OSD menu next,
this proves monitor works, see?
then in the same menus OF MON, tell it what video cable port you
are using (not stated)
the PC are the fans working>? must.
is the video cable plugged in to the correct port>
if the PC Desktop (is it) fitted out with a GPU video card these ports must be used no the Motherboard, port.(as those are off line)
all you have told is AOC and black, we can no see what you have there.I have monitor connected a NVR camera system too.
NO PC told or photos of the rear (video end)

the manual on your unstated monitor will show, the OSD setting for
reset colors and for reset the whole thing sure does
google he model and say manual finds it for free, on any monitor.

Gateway GT5040 Graphics Card

This model Gateway desktop computer has a built-in video card.
Connect the monitor to the Gateway motherboard video port and the boot up and go into the BIOS and select disable the built-in video.
Shut down then connect the monitor to the 8800GTX video card and boot up the Gateway computer. The video should then appear in the monitor.

Emachine ET1850 model when turn on no display picture.

Check ALL monitor cables, reseat connections. Have you done any hardware or software updates? Graphics Updates? Do you get anything at boot? Just no signal? It sound like a hardware issue, Graphics. Support for your machine can be found here: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?modelId=2064 You could buy a PCI e x16 Graphic Card . Better ,faster Graphics. First, check VGA connections, reseat, check for bent pins. Try another cable and monitor, to verify.

I was playing solitaire on our home PC and the power went off and the screen went black. Before it went black it said "no input signal go to power save" Everytime I try to turn the computer on...

It means that your monitor is not getting a signal from your PC. Your monitor is fine though. You will need to plug the video cable from your monitor into the onboard video if you are using a graphics card. If you are not using a graphics card then you will probebly need to get a PC technition to diagnose the problem with your motherboard.

Turns on fan runs but no info to the monitor doesnt seem to boot

If the Monitor is displaying no infomation at all, your display signal from the PC to the monitor has failed.
1: Check the cable between the monitor and PC
2: If you are using onboard graphics then that display port is faulty.
3: If you are using a graphics card then remove it and try the onboard graphics.
4: Your monitor maybe faulty aswell so test it on another computer to be safe.

Its more likely to be option 2

Computer Does not work correctly with Radeon 9250 Graphics Card

Hmm? Everything except replacing the motherboard, sometimes it does not get any better, but...go into your BIOS and turn off the Gateway splash screen. It will be an option in maybe the first or second menu choice. Make sure your on board video device is disabled and save your options when exiting. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Monitors wont work

It appears that you have a faulty graphics card.
If the graphics card is integrated with the motherboard then it cannot be repaired. Just purchase a new AGP graphics card, insert it into the AGP slot and connect your monitor to this card.
You may need to go to the BIOS setup to disable the on-board graphics card.
If you don't have an integrated graphics card, then buy a replacement graphics card.
You will need to install the new graphics drivers after installing the graphics card.

Graphics Card

helenak,
  • First you should check your connection from your monitor to your computer, generally it will be at the back of CPU (Computer Cabinet).
See the image: 7fe1438.jpg This will be connected to your PC Video out port:351cada.jpg
  • After connecting again try out. If no luck then you shoud buy a PCI VGA card, its easy to installed in your PC, just remove the cover and you will see a slot with white color, try to insert gentlly it will be fixed.
  • Regarding rate there are too many products, you can search at net for your need.

Thanks & Good Luck

Computer turns on, but there is no display on monitor.

The builtin video card is probably bad. Yes, you can get a PCI video card.
