A damaged hard drive will NOT affect your bios, however a bad motherboard, ROM, chip, memory, etc. can cause your system to freeze when entering BIOS. You probably need to send it out for repair.

remove the hard drive and then reboot your system and try to enter bios. If you still freeze then go back to my original answer.

Laptop says no operating system found wot do i do as its a samsung notebook

Hi,

Check if the harddrive is detected in BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) setup by pressing F2..or F12 (depends on what key is designed for the BIOS setup).

- If the harddrive is detected in the BIOS (usually shows the harddrive name or values beside "Drive 0"), your operating system is corrupted. You need an operating system disc to install it.

- If the harddrive is not detected in the BIOS ( no value beside "Drive 0"), either the harddrive cable is loose, the harddrive is not inserted properly or is defective. Check the harddrive compartment at the bottom of the laptop and use screw driver to reveal it. Try to reinsert it or use a good known hard drive.

Hope this helps.

Ya sounds like the hard drive has died or there is a interface problem since you suffered from water damage. you may be able to get data off the hard drive by using a external hard drive connector but it may or may not work.

The hard drive crashed will not start

If the hard drive have crashed meaning that the hard drive itself is damaged, then your solution is to replace a new harddrive. If you do have a recovery disc already made, or one is provided then you will have to use that disc once the hard drive is replaced with the new one, and follow the procedure to reinstalled the operating system. If the original hard drive had crash and does no work anymore (where the bios/computer cannot detect it) and you have important data that you would like to retrive, there are places such as office depot, bestbuy, where they can help you send it to a recovery file center to recover files from your damaged hard drive. Do not attemp to fix or open a damaged harddrive, you can forever damage the files on the cyclinder disc. 2) Now if your harddrive crash in term as windows just crashing and you cannot get into your operating system and the bios is still able to detect the hard drive, and it's giving you a error message, then you will only need to reinstall, or do a windows recovery through your recovery disc, If you do not have a recovery or made the disc, then you will need to buy a new operating system software. If you computer does not start meaning no display on the screen at all, then please replay back. That is a different story.

Well, let see, it saying that operating system is not found. This mean that there is no operating system loaded. It is 80% that your hard drive is currupted 19% that the operating system is damage if your harddrive is not damaged... unless you have a operating system load to a external source such a usb thumb drive, flash driver. If you didn't. then most likely your hard drive is currupted. The only way to see this is to press the f2 or f10 which ever key that load the bios menu which is a blue menu after you press it. Then see if the hard drive is detected. If not then your harddrive is bad and needs to be replaced and a Os is need to be reinstalled in order to work. If you have another laptop or a desktop that can accept sata drive, you might want to test this if the other computer would detect it as in some case the expansion slot for the harddrive could come worn out and couldn't read your harddrive. But most of the time, it is your harddrive, it is bad and need to be replaced.

Try booting into the BIOS Screen and resetting to factory defaults. If that fails suggest swapping the hard drive out and re-install the Operating System - Save your old data and migrate the data off the old drive. You can buy an external drive adapter to connect the harddrive to a USB port to migrate you data.
Good Luck!

The media test failure and the clicking sound from the hard disk indicated that the hard disk has failed. To get the laptop goining again, you need to replace the hard disk and install Windows on the new hard disk.

This issue showed that the harddrive is not found. Try to fixed hardware connecting from harddrive and the board.
did you see hard drive detected in the bios at start? if your are sure that the connection cable is firmly fixed and the hard drive still not detected by the bios. so there is a problem with your harddrive. you should/may replace that.On the other hand if in case your hard drive is detected and still thesame problem encountered. then, you should reinstall your operating system by inserting the original operating system recovery/ windows bootable installation disc to refresh the state of your system.

any problem srising this solution please notify me.
